Half-Day Tulip and Windmill Tour

Pick up from your hotel in or around Amsterdam. The adventure begins with a scenic drive to the north of Holland.

We’ll drive through the serene countryside, and explore quaint, picturesque villages, such as Graft and De Rijp, and discover the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Beemster.

Explore the Schermer, one of the largest reclaimed land areas in Holland, known for its network of windmills. These windmills were responsible for draining the Schermeer Lake in the 17th century, creating the Schermerpolder. Visit the Museum Mill to learn about the historic water management techniques and how people once lived in windmills.

Continue your journey through picturesque dikes and reclaimed lands, along the way, we’ll pass Esther family’s windmill and take a stop at spring flower fields for some amazing photo opportunities.

Visit the Hortus Bulborum, a spring garden Museum that houses an impressive collection of historic bulbous plants. Admire over 4,500 varieties of tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, crocuses, and more, with some varieties dating back to the 16th century.

Optional: Enjoy a coffee/tea or hot chocolate with a piece of traditional Dutch apple pie while soaking in the garden’s beauty.

Visit a family-run cheese farm where they still make their Gouda cheeses by hand and indulge in a cheese tasting.

After a delightful half day exploring Holland’s countryside, return to your hotel in Amsterdam, filled with memories of beautiful flowers, historic windmills, and rich Dutch cheeses.
